APPLICATIONS FOR ENTRY-LEVEL
FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC ELIGIBILITY LIST
Eligibility List Effective August 14, 2008 through August 14, 2010
Obtain and submit applications Monday, June 2 through Monday, June 16, 2008 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Roseville City Clerk’s Office, 29777 Gratiot, Roseville, MI. Applications will not be mailed unless applicants reside 50 miles or more from Roseville. Completed applications from applicants who reside 50 miles or more may be returned by mail. Original certificates must be presented on or before candidate’s oral examination for verification of copied certificates sent with mailed application.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: 4:00 p.m., June 16, 2006
1. Applicant must submit birth certificate or naturalization papers.
2. Residency must be established in Macomb, Wayne, Oakland or St. Clair County within one year from date of hire.
3. Must be at least 18 years of age on date of application. (Birth certificate required)
4. Applicant must be the holder of a valid driver’s license.
5. Education minimum of a high school diploma or GED Certificate. (Original required)
6. Must possess a State of Michigan Firefighter I and II Certificate at time of application and at time of hire. (Applicant must submit original certificate.)
7. Must possess a State of Michigan Paramedic license at deadline for application and at time of hire. (Applicant must submit proof of license.)
8. Must possess Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification at deadline for application and at time of hire. (Applicant must submit certificate.)
9. For 2006-2008 Eligibility list, applicant must be CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) certified and submit proof of certification at time of hire.
10. Must not have been convicted of any violation of the Penal Code.
11. Vision correctable to 20/20 and pass color blindness test in both eyes.
12. Must successfully pass the character background check, psychological examination, drug test and physical examination administered by or directed by the City of Roseville.
SELECTION PROCESS
A written examination will be given on Monday, July 14, 2008 to all applicants who successfully met the minimum requirements and have submitted the proper proof of entry-level criteria. Those applicants scoring 70% or above on the written examination will be scheduled for the oral board interview examination. Applicant must score 70% or better to pass the oral examination. A two-year eligibility list will then be formulated based on the average of the applicants’ written and oral scores.
ALL ENTRY-LEVEL CRITERIA MUST BE MET AND ORIGINAL PROOF INCLUDING BIRTH CERTIFICATE, HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED CERTIFICATE, FIREFIGHTER I and II CERTIFICATE, PARAMEDIC LICENSE AND ACLS CERTIFICATE MUST BE SUBMITTED BY APPLICATION DEADLINE OF 4:00 P.M. June 16, 2008.
FOR 2008-2010 ELIGIBILITY LIST CPAT, CERTIFICATION MUST BE SUBMITTED UPON DATE OF HIRE.

SALARY: Starting salary: $35,283
After 48 months of service: $57,633
